Cross-stitch imitation with decoupage

At this decoupage tutorial we will show you a new technique – imitation of cross-stitch work.



Supplies: white canvas with the coarse structure, 3-layered napkin, embroidery hoop (for you to be comfortable to work with the canvas), small brush, decoupage glue or PVA glue diluted with water, needle.





1. First of all prepare the motive. With the help of the wet brush outline it from the napkin that you have chosen. Remove all unnecessary.


2. Now put the motive on your canvas.


3. Wet it with the glue. Carefully press it with the brush, trying not to spoil it.


4. Let it dry completely. Now with the help of the needle we are making holes in every interlacing of canvas. It will take some time but it is making your cross-stitch imitation more real.
